Grandstream GAC2500 Audio Conferencing IP Phone

The Grandstream GAC2500 is an Android-based business conference phone with a 4-microphone array with beamforming and Noise Shield technology.

Beamforming is what separates it from a speakerphone. The array works out where the person talking is and listens in that direction, rather than picking up the whole room equally. Noise Shield then suppresses what is left — the air conditioning, the corridor, the laptop fan. The result is that the far end hears the speaker instead of the room.

Integrated dual-band Wi-Fi lets it pair with video and web conferencing services, and it supports external audio equipment for rooms that need more coverage than one unit gives.

Frequently asked questions

What does beamforming actually change?

A plain speakerphone hears the whole room equally, including the air conditioning and the corridor. A beamforming array works out where the voice is coming from and listens that way. The far end notices immediately.

Will it cover a large boardroom?

A four-microphone array covers a normal meeting room. For a long table, it supports external audio equipment — or look at the GAC2570, which has twelve microphones and pairs with wireless units up to 20 metres away.

GAC2500 or GAC2570?

The GAC2570 is the current model: twelve microphones against four, a 7-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi 6 and a built-in battery. The GAC2500 remains a capable conference phone for a normal meeting room.

Can it join Teams or Zoom meetings?

It has dual-band Wi-Fi for pairing with video and web conferencing services, but how it fits into a particular platform depends on your setup. Tell us what you use and we will be straight about what works.

Do I need a Grandstream phone system?

No — it is a standards-based SIP device, and at its best on a Grandstream UCM.
