Grandstream GWN7806 48-Port Gigabit Layer 2+ Managed Switch with 6 × 10G SFP+

The Grandstream GWN7806 is a 48-port Layer 2+ managed switch for sites that have outgrown unmanaged hardware. Forty-eight Gigabit copper ports handle the access layer, and six 10G SFP+ slots give you ten-gigabit uplinks into the core or between buildings — enough headroom that the uplink stops being the bottleneck.

This is the non-PoE model, so connected devices need their own power. If you are powering access points, IP phones or cameras over the network cable, the GWN7806P is the same switch with a 400W PoE budget across all 48 ports.

Being Layer 2+ managed, it does the work that matters on a busy network: VLANs to keep voice, CCTV and data apart, QoS so calls stay clean when someone starts a backup, link aggregation for a fatter uplink, and spanning tree so a mis-patched cable does not take the site down. Up to four units stack as one logical switch, and management runs from GWN.Cloud, the local web interface, or SNMP and CLI.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GWN7806 supply PoE to connected devices?

No. The GWN7806 is the non-PoE model — every connected device needs its own power supply. If you need power over the network cable for access points, phones, cameras or door entry units, order the GWN7806P instead. It is the same 48-port Layer 2+ switch with a 400W PoE budget, up to 30W per port.

Are the uplinks really 10 gigabit?

Yes. The six SFP+ slots run at 10Gbps, not 1Gbps. That matters on a 48-port switch — with Gigabit uplinks a busy access layer would saturate the link to the core.

Can several of these be managed as one switch?

Yes. Up to four units stack into a single logical switch, so a full cabinet is configured and monitored as one device rather than four.

Can it be managed without a cloud account?

Yes. The switch has a full local web interface and supports SNMP and CLI, so it can run entirely on-premises. GWN.Cloud is optional and is most useful when you manage several sites.

Will it route between VLANs?

Yes. Layer 2+ includes inter-VLAN routing, which is usually enough for a single-site network. For dynamic routing or firewalling between segments you would pair it with a router or a Grandstream GCC unit.
