Grandstream WP810 Cordless WiFi IP Phone

The Grandstream WP810 is the entry point into Wi-Fi cordless telephony — the handset to buy when staff need to be reachable away from a desk and the site already has decent wireless. It joins the existing 2.4GHz or 5GHz network directly, so there is no DECT base station to buy, site or maintain.

Two SIP accounts let one handset carry a personal extension and a shared department number. Dual-microphone HD voice with echo cancellation keeps speech clear in a busy room, and the 1500mAh battery gives up to 6 hours of talking and 120 hours on standby — comfortable for a normal working day.

It is the light-duty member of the range and priced accordingly. Where handsets will be out in the weather, in a wash-down area or in constant use across long shifts, the ruggedised WP825 and WP836 are the models that earn their extra cost.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a DECT base station?

No. The WP810 is a Wi-Fi handset — it registers straight to your wireless network and your phone system. If the site already has business-grade access points, there is no extra base hardware to buy.

Will a call survive walking around the building?

It supports roaming, so yes — provided the access points are configured for it, with the same SSID and security settings throughout. That configuration matters more than the handset; we can check it with you.

How is it different from the WP820?

The WP820 has a larger 2.4-inch screen, Bluetooth, and a longer 7.5-hour talk time from the same size battery. The WP810 is the lighter, cheaper handset for straightforward use.

Is it suitable for outdoor or wash-down areas?

No. It has no ingress protection rating. For weather, wash-down or handsets that get dropped regularly, specify the WP825 or the IP67-rated WP836 — replacing damaged WP810s costs more than buying the right handset once.

Can I keep spare batteries?

Yes, and it is worth doing on a shift site. The same 1500mAh pack fits the WP816, WP820 and the DECT DP730, so one spare line covers a mixed fleet.

How many can I register?
