Netgear 5 Port PoE+ Gigabit Managed Switch (63W)

The Netgear GS305EP is the most capable of the compact GS305 family: five Gigabit ports, PoE+ power delivery and Netgear's Plus web management in one small box. It is aimed at the small site that has outgrown pure plug-and-play — a shop or office that wants to power an access point and a camera from the switch and keep the CCTV traffic separated from the tills on its own VLAN.

Management runs through a simple browser interface: VLANs, QoS prioritisation for voice and video, and per-port control, without any controller or licence. Pair it with a PoE access point such as the TP-Link EAP650, or — if you do not need the management layer — save with the unmanaged GS305P.

Frequently asked questions

GS305EP or GS305P — what is the difference?

Both are compact five-port Gigabit switches with PoE. The GS305P is unmanaged — pure plug and play — while the GS305EP adds Netgear's Plus web management, so you can set up VLANs, prioritise traffic and monitor ports. If you will never open a management page, buy the P; if you want control, buy the EP.

Do I need a controller or licence to manage it?

No. Management is built in and reached through a web browser on your network — there is no separate hardware, cloud subscription or licence fee.

What can it power?

Standards-based PoE and PoE+ devices — typically a wireless access point, an IP camera or two, or IP desk phones. Tell us what you plan to connect and we will confirm the load fits before you order.

Can it be wall-mounted?

Yes — the mounting kit and rubber feet are both in the box, so it works on a desk, a shelf or fixed to a wall or backboard.
