The EAP660 HD is the Omada ceiling AP for genuinely crowded venues — lecture theatres, conference floors, arenas of desks. Wi-Fi 6 at 1148 Mbps on 2.4 GHz plus 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, with capacity for over 1,000 clients, keeps high-density spaces usable when everything connects at once.

Crucially, its 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port stops the cable becoming the bottleneck — feed it from a multi-gigabit PoE switch such as the Omada SG3210XHP-M2 and the full wireless throughput reaches the LAN. It powers over 802.3at PoE+, adopts into Omada SDN with Zero-Touch Provisioning, and pairs naturally with an OC300 controller on larger estates.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a 2.5G switch to use it?

No — it will negotiate down to Gigabit happily. But to see the benefit of an AX3600 radio serving hundreds of clients, a 2.5G PoE+ port upstream is strongly recommended.

How is it powered?

802.3at PoE+ over the Ethernet cable, or the included power adapter — PoE is the tidy option for ceiling mounting.

Does it need an Omada controller?

It runs standalone, but the deployments this AP is built for — many APs, many clients — are exactly where an OC200/OC300 controller with Zero-Touch Provisioning earns its keep.
