TP-Link Omada SG6654XHP L3 PoE Switch

The Omada SG6654XHP is the flagship PoE switch of the Omada L3 range: 48 Gigabit PoE+ ports, six 10 Gbps SFP+ slots and a total PoE budget of up to 1440 W — enough to run a very large estate of access points, cameras and phones from a single chassis.

Full Layer 3 routing (RIP, OSPF, ECMP, VRRP, PIM-DM, DHCP server/relay), physical stacking and two field-replaceable power supplies make it a genuine distribution-layer platform. Feed high-density APs such as the EAP670 or EAP772 directly from its ports, all cloud-managed with an Omada SDN controller like the OC300.

Why field-replaceable power supplies?

If a PSU fails it can be swapped without replacing the switch, and the second unit keeps the switch and its powered devices running in the meantime.

Does it route as well as switch?

Yes — RIP, OSPF, ECMP, VRRP, PIM-DM and DHCP server/relay run on-box, so it handles inter-VLAN routing at the distribution layer without an external router.

Do I need an Omada controller?

No — standalone web, CLI, SNMP and RMON are built in; the Omada SDN controller adds single-dashboard cloud management across switches, APs and gateways.
