DrayTek VigorAP 918RPD

The VigorAP 918RPD is the bracket-mounted edition of DrayTek's outdoor access point, a dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 AP and range extender built for open-air coverage. Restaurants, gardens, marinas and school grounds all get proper business wireless, with the supplied mounting bracket and earthing cable making a tidy, secure outdoor installation straightforward.

Like the rest of the 918R family it can join a DrayTek Mesh — one root AP and up to eight units in total — so outdoor zones link back to the indoor network without running new cabling. Pair it with the ceiling-mount VigorAP 912C indoors and a Vigor 2865 router managing the whole estate.

How does the 918RPD differ from the 918R?

They share the same outdoor 802.11ac Wave 2 platform — the difference is the supplied fitting kit. The 918RPD ships with a mounting bracket and fixings, while the 918R comes with pipe clamps for pole mounting. Ask us which suits your installation.

Do I need a controller?

No. It runs standalone, or can be centrally managed via VigorACS, VigorConnect or the AP management built into Vigor routers.

Can it extend coverage without cabling?

Yes — as part of a DrayTek Mesh it links wirelessly back to the root AP, with up to eight APs in a single mesh.

What is in the box?
