Grandstream GDS3702 HD Audio IP Intercom
The Grandstream GDS3702 is a slim audio-only door intercom for entrances where you need to speak to a caller and release the door, but a camera is either unnecessary or not permitted. At 173 x 80 x 36 mm on the wall it fits narrow door frames and mullions that a full video panel simply will not sit on.
It is a SIP endpoint, so a press of the call button can ring desk phones, DECT or Wi-Fi handsets, an indoor control station or a mobile app — no proprietary wiring and no dedicated answering panel required. Two onboard relays drive the lock and an alarm output, and two optocoupler inputs take an exit button and a door contact, so a complete door can be built around the unit itself. A single 802.3af PoE cable provides both power and network. The metal body is rated IP66 for weather and IK10 for impact.
Ideal for
- Narrow door frames and mullions where a wide video panel will not fit
- Sites where a camera at the door is not wanted for privacy reasons
- Rear entrances, fire exits and secondary doors on larger buildings
- Replacing analogue door entry handsets with SIP-based entry
- Warehouses, workshops and yards needing rugged outdoor entry
- Small offices and studios wanting door entry through existing IP phones
Key features
- SIP audio intercom — calls ring your existing IP phones, handsets or mobile app instead of a proprietary panel
- Two relay outputs — 125VAC/0.5A or 30VDC/2A, normally open or normally closed, for the lock and an alarm or light circuit
- Two alarm inputs — optocoupler inputs for a request-to-exit button and a door contact
- IP66 and IK10 rated — weatherproof and vandal-resistant metal casing
- Single-cable install — IEEE 802.3af Class 3 PoE carries power and data on one Cat5e run
- HD audio — G.722 wideband with a 2W loudspeaker effective to about 3 metres and a microphone pickup to about 1.5 metres
- Echo and noise handling — AEC and ANC keep speech intelligible in reverberant doorways
- Slim profile — just 36 mm deep on the wall, or flush-mounted with the in-wall option
- Wide temperature range — rated -30°C to 60°C for unprotected outdoor positions
- Remote provisioning — TR-069 and mass provisioning for multi-door rollouts

Frequently asked questions
Does the GDS3702 have a camera or card reader?
No. It is a call-button audio intercom only. If you need video, look at the GDS3710 or GDS3712; if you need RFID card and fob entry, the GDS3705 adds a reader in the same slim housing.
Can it open a door without any other equipment?
Yes. Two onboard relays can switch a maglock or electric strike directly, and two inputs accept an exit button and a door contact, so no separate door controller is needed for a single door.
What answers the call?
Anything that can take a SIP call — a Grandstream desk phone, a DECT or Wi-Fi handset, a GSC3570 indoor station, or a softphone on a mobile. It is not tied to a proprietary answering panel.
Will it survive being mounted outdoors with no canopy?
It is rated IP66 against rain and dust, IK10 against impact, and specified from -30°C to 60°C. A canopy is not required, though shading the panel from direct sun is always good practice.
Do I need a power supply as well as the network cable?
Not if your switch supplies 802.3af PoE — one Cat5e run does both. A 12VDC 1A supply can be used instead, but the adapter is not included in the box.
