Grandstream GHP621W Compact Hotel Phone + WiFi

The Grandstream GHP621W is the six-key hotel phone with integrated dual-band Wi-Fi, in black. It joins the property's wireless network instead of needing a socket in the room — the model for listed buildings, conversions and any wing that was never cabled.

The keys are the point: ten labelled speed dial keys plus six programmable keys, so a property with a spa, a restaurant, a concierge and a taxi desk can put them all within one press. No screen, no menus, nothing for a guest to get lost in.

Audio is the other reason to choose the 62x: the full-band Opus codec and a jitter-resilience algorithm that tolerates up to 30% packet loss — which matters more on Wi-Fi than on a cable.

It is powered by the supplied mains adapter, not PoE.

Frequently asked questions

Can it be powered over Ethernet?

No — the W models connect over Wi-Fi and are powered by the supplied adapter. If the room has a network socket, the plain GHP621 with PoE is the tidier install.

Will hotel Wi-Fi be good enough for calls?

Usually yes, if the access points cover the rooms properly. This model's 30% packet-loss tolerance gives it more headroom than most, but weak signal is still weak signal — fix patchy coverage before adding phones.

Should the phones share the guest Wi-Fi?

Better not to. Put them on their own SSID or VLAN so guest traffic cannot interfere with them and the phones are not visible to guests.

GHP611W or GHP621W?

Count the services you want on a key, and consider the network. Three programmable keys and a standard codec, or six keys with Opus and far better packet-loss tolerance. On Wi-Fi, that resilience is worth more than it is on a cable.

What is the difference between the GHP621W and the GHP620W?

Colour. Black and white respectively; everything else is identical.
