Grandstream GSC3506 V2 SIP Intercom Speaker

The Grandstream GSC3506 V2 is a two-way SIP intercom speaker for ceiling mounting. It is a paging speaker and an intercom in one unit: announcements go out through it, and because it has a microphone as well, someone standing under it can answer back.

That second half is what separates it from a one-way public address speaker. In a stockroom, a plant room or a corridor, a speaker that can only broadcast leaves the person at the other end talking into the air. Two-way means an announcement can become a conversation without anyone walking to a phone.

Ceiling mounting is a real decision, not a detail. A ceiling speaker spreads sound evenly across a space and is out of reach of damage, which suits offices, shops and corridors. Where the area is loud, outdoors, or needs sound thrown in one direction, a horn speaker is the right shape instead — the GSC3518HS covers that.

Frequently asked questions

What does two-way give me over a plain PA speaker?

A microphone. Someone standing under it can reply to an announcement or start a call, which turns a broadcast system into an intercom. If nobody will ever need to answer, the one-way GSC3505 is cheaper.

Can I page a group of them at once?

Yes — multicast paging sends one announcement to a group of speakers simultaneously, which is how a site-wide page is normally built.

Ceiling or horn?

Ceiling for even coverage indoors, where the ceiling is at a normal height and the space is not especially loud. Horn for outdoors, for high ceilings, or where the sound has to be thrown in one direction over noise.

How is it powered?

PoE, over the same cable that carries the network — which is what makes a ceiling install practical.

Does it need a PA amplifier?

No. Each speaker is a network endpoint with its own amplification, so there is no central amplifier or speaker wiring to install.

What is different about the V2?

It is the current hardware revision of the GSC3506. Order the V2 for new installations so firmware and support stay aligned across the estate.
