The Grandstream GUV3005 is a wired USB stereo headset with a noise-cancelling microphone and a busy light — the GUV3000 with one addition that is aimed at everyone except the person wearing it.

The busy light is for your colleagues. A headset on someone's head looks the same whether they are on a call or listening to music, so people interrupt — and callers hear it. The light answers the question before it is asked: lit means on a call, come back later. In an open-plan office that is the difference between a professional call and an apology.

The rest is the same dependable headset: plug into USB, it appears as a sound device, every softphone and meeting app picks it up. Noise cancellation keeps the office out of your side of the call; both-ear stereo keeps the call out of the office's way; in-line controls put volume and mute under your hand.

Frequently asked questions

Is the busy light worth it over the GUV3000?

In a shared space, usually yes — it prevents the interruption instead of managing it. If you work alone or from home, save the difference and take the GUV3000.

Will it work with my softphone?

Yes — it presents as a standard USB audio device, so Wave, Teams, Zoom, browser-based calling and desktop SIP clients all use it without drivers.

Does it plug into a desk phone?

Only phones with a USB headset port. Desk phones with an RJ9 headset socket need an RJ9 headset instead — tell us your phone model and we will point at the right one.

One ear or two?

This is a both-ears stereo headset — the right choice when you need to shut the room out. If you need to keep one ear on the room, that is a different style of headset; ask us.
