Grandstream GUV3100 HD USB 1080p Webcam

The Grandstream GUV3100 is a 1080p USB webcam with two built-in omnidirectional microphones — the camera for the desk and laptop side of video calling, where the built-in webcam is usually the worst camera in the building.

The microphones matter as much as the lens. Two omnidirectional mics with better than a metre of pickup mean you sit back naturally and are still heard clearly — no leaning into the laptop. For a quick two-person huddle around one screen, it copes; for a proper meeting room, that is what video conferencing endpoints are for.

Being a standard USB video and audio device, it works with whatever you already call on — Wave, IPVideoTalk, Teams, Zoom, browser calls — with nothing to install. Plug in, select it, done.

Will it work with Teams / Zoom / my browser?

Yes — it is a standard USB video and audio device, so anything that can use a webcam can use it, with nothing to install.

Do I still need a headset?

For open-plan offices, yes — the webcam's speakerless open audio is fine in a quiet room, but a headset keeps your call out of the office and the office out of your call. In a private room the built-in microphones carry a conversation comfortably.

Can it serve a meeting room?

A huddle of two around one screen, yes. A real meeting room wants a conferencing endpoint with a wide-angle camera and room microphones — ask us about the GVC range.

Is 1080p enough?

For person-at-a-desk video calling, comfortably — the bottleneck on most calls is lighting and bandwidth, not pixels. Face a window or a lamp and the GUV3100 will look better than a 4K camera pointed at a silhouette.
