TP-Link Omada ESP206MPP-M2 5-Port 2.5G Switch

The Omada ESP206MPP-M2 is a compact multi-gig PoE switch built for the Wi-Fi 6/7 era: five 2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports, four of them supplying 802.3af/at/bt PoE++, plus a 10 Gbps SFP+ slot for the uplink. With a 120 W budget and up to 90 W available on a single port, it will drive power-hungry access points, PTZ cameras and other high-draw devices without breaking a sweat.

It is the natural partner for multi-gig Omada access points — pair it with a Wi-Fi 7 unit such as the EAP772 or EAP773 so the 2.5G link, not the cable, sets the pace. Behind an Omada ER707-M2 router it completes a tidy small-site multi-gig core.

Being an easy managed switch, it works plug-and-play out of the box, with simple configuration and centralised Omada cloud management available when you want it.

Do I need an Omada controller to use it?

No — it is plug-and-play out of the box. Adding Omada cloud management via the web or app is optional, and worthwhile once the switch sits alongside Omada APs and routers you want to manage centrally.

How much PoE power can one port deliver?

Up to 90 W on a single port, within the switch's overall 120 W budget across its four 802.3af/at/bt PoE++ ports — enough for the most demanding Wi-Fi 7 access points.

Why does the uplink matter?

With five 2.5G ports feeding traffic upstream, a gigabit uplink would be a bottleneck. The 10G SFP+ slot keeps aggregate traffic flowing at full speed to the core.

Is it quiet enough for a desk?
