TP-Link Omada SX6632YF L3 Non PoE Switch

The Omada SX6632YF is a Layer 3 fibre core for campus and multi-building networks: twenty-six 10G SFP+ slots, six 25G SFP28 slots and 820 Gbps of switching capacity. It terminates the 10G uplinks from every distribution and access switch on site, and hands traffic to servers or an upstream core at 25G.

Full L3 routing — RIP, OSPF, ECMP, VRRP, PIM-DM and DHCP Server/Relay — runs in the switch itself, and high availability is engineered in: physical stacking, two field-replaceable power supplies, VRRP and ERPS. It aggregates PoE++ edge switches such as the SX3832MPP and joins the same Omada SDN fabric as the SG6654XHP, all cloud-managed via the Omada SDN controller or standalone via web, CLI, SNMP and RMON.

Where does a switch like this sit?

At the core or collapsed-core of a campus network. Access and distribution switches uplink into its 10G slots; the 25G SFP28 slots carry traffic to servers, storage or a second core unit.

How is high availability handled?

Several layers: physical stacking across units, two field-replaceable power supplies in the chassis, VRRP for gateway redundancy and ERPS for ring protection — so no single failure takes the site down.

Does it route as well as switch?

Yes — static and dynamic routing (RIP, OSPF), ECMP load sharing, PIM-DM multicast routing and DHCP Server/Relay all run natively at Layer 3.

Do I need an Omada controller?

No — standalone web, CLI, SNMP and RMON management is built in. At this scale most sites run it under the Omada SDN controller for single-pane management of the whole estate.
