TP-Link SG1210PP 10 Port Gigabit PoE Switch

The TP-Link SG1210PP (TL-SG1210PP) is a ten-port Gigabit unmanaged switch with eight PoE ports — and a twist. Ports 1–2 support IEEE 802.3af/at/bt, so the two hungriest devices on site (high-power PoE++ kit such as PTZ cameras or demanding access points) get fed alongside six standard 802.3af/at ports for everyday cameras, APs and IP phones.

Detection and power delivery are automatic: connect a compliant powered device and the switch supplies it, no configuration required. As ever with PoE, one cable carries data and power, so devices go where they are needed rather than where the sockets are.

If none of your devices need 802.3bt, the standard SG1210MP saves money in the same format; the outdoor Omada SG2005P-PD is a natural partner, drawing its own power from a PoE++ port like this switch's ports 1–2.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the PoE ports?

Ports 1–2 support IEEE 802.3af/at/bt (PoE++), for high-power devices; ports 3–8 support IEEE 802.3af/at for standard cameras, APs and phones. All detect compliant devices automatically.

Do I need PoE++ at all?

Only if a device's datasheet asks for 802.3bt power — typically PTZ cameras, high-end APs or PoE-powered extension switches. If everything on site is af/at, the SG1210MP does the same job for less.

Is it managed?

No — it is unmanaged and entirely plug and play, which keeps installation quick and running costs at zero.

Is a power supply included?

Yes — the power adapter ships in the box along with the installation guide.
