Grandstream GWN7062 Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Router

The Grandstream GWN7062 is the original dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router of the range: up to 1.77 Gbps of wireless throughput, up to 256 concurrent clients, on a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 2×2:2 MU-MIMO and a built-in VPN.

The quad-core processor is what separates it from a consumer router. Routing, firewalling and VPN all cost processing, and a router that runs out of processor slows the whole site down while its Wi-Fi light still looks healthy.

VPN, a full firewall and mesh networking are included, with free management through GWN.Cloud — no licence, no subscription.

Frequently asked questions

256 clients — do I really need that?

Count what is actually connected, not how many people work there. Phones, laptops, printers, cameras, card terminals and building equipment add up fast, and device count is what makes a cheap router start dropping connections.

Why does the processor matter?

Because routing, firewalling and VPN all consume it. A router short of processor slows the whole site down while everything still looks connected — which is a difficult fault to diagnose and an easy one to avoid.

Is one router enough for my building?

It depends on walls, not on the router. A router plus wired access points always beats one router trying to cover a building.

Is the VPN licensed separately?

No. VPN and the firewall features are part of the router, and GWN.Cloud management is free.

GWN7062 or GWN7062M?

Both hold 256 devices; the M is the faster radio at up to 3 Gbps. If the site's internet connection is well under a gigabit, the difference will rarely show.
