The Grandstream GWN7062M is the busiest of the GWN7062 routers: a dual-band AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 router delivering up to 3 Gbps for up to 256 wireless devices. Twice the device ceiling of the GWN7062E, for a site where the client count is the constraint.

That number is what usually decides it. A small office with fifteen staff has far more than fifteen devices — laptops, phones, printers, card terminals, cameras, thermostats and a television nobody admits to. Routers fall over on device count long before they fall over on speed.

256 devices — do I really need that?

Count what is actually connected, not how many people work there. Phones, laptops, printers, cameras, card terminals and building equipment add up fast, and it is the device count that makes a cheap router start dropping connections.

Is one router enough for my building?

It depends on walls, not on the router. A router plus wired access points always beats one router trying to cover a building. Use the GWN7062M as the core and add access points where the signal will not reach.

Is the VPN licensed separately?

No. VPN and the firewall features are part of the router, and GWN.Cloud management is free — usually the largest hidden cost when comparing against other brands.

GWN7062M or GWN7062E?

Device count, mainly. Both reach about 3 Gbps; the M holds up to 256 devices against the E's 128. If the E's ceiling is comfortably above your count, it saves money.

Can I keep guest Wi-Fi away from the office network?

Yes — separate SSIDs with VLANs, which is the correct way to do it rather than a shared password everyone knows.
