Grandstream GWN7062E Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band Router

The Grandstream GWN7062E is a business Wi-Fi 6 router for a small site: up to 3 Gbps of wireless, up to 128 concurrent devices, three Gigabit ports, a full firewall and a built-in VPN. It is the box that replaces an ISP router when the ISP router has started to be the problem.

The radio design does the work: 2.4GHz 2×2:2 and 5GHz 3×3:2 MU-MIMO with beamforming and extended-range technology. Three streams on 5GHz is more than most routers at this price, and beamforming aims the signal at the device rather than spraying it at the room.

The VPN is the quiet reason to buy it. A branch office that needs a permanent, encrypted link back to head office normally means buying a firewall appliance; here it is part of the router, with no licence.

What is the difference between the GWN7062E and the GWN7062ET?

The ET adds two FXS ports for analogue phones or fax machines. Everything else — processor, radios, ports — is the same. If you have an analogue line to keep, the ET saves buying a separate ATA.

Is one router enough for my office?

For a few rooms, often yes. Beyond that, a router plus wired access points always beats one router trying to cover a building — walls, not distance, are what stop Wi-Fi.

Is the VPN licensed separately?

No. VPN and the firewall features are part of the router, and GWN.Cloud management is free. That is usually the largest hidden cost when comparing against other brands.

Can I keep guest Wi-Fi away from the office network?
