The Grandstream GWN7615 is the entry point of the GWN access point range: dual-band, 100+ concurrent clients, coverage up to 100 metres. It is the sensible choice for a small office, a shop, a surgery or a floor that needs proper business Wi-Fi rather than another consumer router.

The reason to buy a GWN at this price is not the radio — it is the management. There is no controller to buy. One access point takes the controller role for the site, or you run them free from GWN.Cloud. Multiple SSIDs, VLANs, a guest captive portal and seamless roaming all come as standard, which is not true of a router from a high street shop.

It is also the model to buy in quantity: three GWN7615s covering three rooms will beat one expensive access point trying to cover all three.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate controller?

No. One of the access points takes the controller role for the site, or you manage them free from GWN.Cloud. There is no licence and no appliance to buy — which is usually the largest hidden cost when comparing against other brands.

Is one enough for my office?

Rarely, unless it is genuinely one room. Wi-Fi is limited by walls and by device count long before it is limited by distance. Two cheaper access points in the right places nearly always beat one expensive one in the wrong place.

GWN7615 or GWN7625?

Device count and reach. The 7615 holds 100+ clients over about 100 metres; the 7625 holds 200+ over about 165. For a small office the 7615 is enough; for a busy open-plan floor, step up.

Can I mix models on one network?

Yes, and it is normal to. Put the bigger access points where the people are and the cheaper ones in corridors and back offices — they all manage together and clients roam between them.

Does it need PoE?

It is designed for it — one cable to the ceiling, no socket needed up there. If the switch has no PoE, use an injector.
