Grandstream GWN7062ET Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router

The Grandstream GWN7062ET is a Wi-Fi 6 router with two FXS telephone ports built in. That is the whole reason it exists, and it is a genuinely useful piece of consolidation: one box gives a small site its internet, its Wi-Fi, its firewall, its VPN and two analogue phone or fax lines — instead of a router plus a separate ATA plus two power supplies plus two things to go wrong.

The wireless is real too: up to 3 Gbps, with 2.4GHz 2×2:2 and 5GHz 3×3:2 MU-MIMO, beamforming and extended-range technology, for up to 128 concurrent devices. Three Gigabit ports, VPN, a full firewall and mesh support come as standard.

It is the same router as the GWN7062E — the T is the telephony.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the GWN7062E and the GWN7062ET?

The two FXS ports. Both have the same processor, the same Wi-Fi 6 radios and the same three Gigabit ports; the ET adds telephony. If you have an analogue phone, fax or card terminal to keep, the ET saves you buying a separate ATA.

What can I plug into the FXS ports?

Anything that expects an analogue phone line — a handset, a fax machine, a card terminal, a door phone or an alarm dialler. The port supplies dial tone and ring current exactly as an exchange line does.

Do the phone ports need a SIP provider?

Yes. The router carries the analogue devices onto SIP; the calls still go out through your provider or your PBX.

128 devices — is that enough?

For a small office or a shop, comfortably. If the site is busier than that, use a router plus separate access points rather than asking one box to do everything.

Can I extend the Wi-Fi later?

Yes — mesh with another GWN unit, or add a wired access point, which is always the better result where a cable can be run.

Is the VPN licensed separately?

No. VPN and the firewall features are part of the router, and GWN.Cloud management is free.
