Grandstream GWN7700P 5-Port Gigabit 4-Port PoE+ Switch

The Grandstream GWN7700P is the smallest PoE switch in the range: five Gigabit ports, four of them PoE+, with nothing to configure. It exists for the situation everyone recognises — a couple of cameras or access points in a corner of a building with no PoE anywhere near them.

Four PoE ports share a 60 W budget, with up to 30 W available on any one port. Two demanding devices will use the whole budget; four desk phones will barely touch it. Count the draw, not the ports.

The fifth port is the uplink back to the rest of the network.

Frequently asked questions

Can all four PoE ports run at 30 W?

No. The total budget is 60 W across all of them — two devices at 30 W each will use the lot. For four access points or cameras, add up their real draw first.

Is five ports enough?

Four devices plus the uplink. If you need a fifth device, take the 8-port GWN7701P instead — chaining small switches together is how a network becomes hard to diagnose.

Unmanaged — what am I giving up?

VLANs, QoS and any visibility. If you need to separate voice, CCTV and guest traffic, you need a managed switch.

Do I need to configure it?

No. There is nothing to configure and no web interface.

Can I use it as a PoE injector?

Effectively yes, and for two or three devices it is often cheaper and tidier than separate injectors and their power supplies.
