Grandstream GWN7803-PRO 24-Port Layer 2+ Managed Switch
The Grandstream GWN7803-PRO is the non-PoE member of Grandstream's GWN7800 Pro switch family: 24 Gigabit copper ports plus six SFP+ cages for 10 Gigabit uplinks or fibre runs between comms rooms. It is the switch to reach for when the edge devices bring their own power and what you actually need is fast, resilient aggregation with proper Layer 2+ control.
Compared with the standard GWN7800 range, the Pro models carry twice the RAM and CPU, which shows up as headroom when you push large ACL sets, many VLANs and heavy multicast at the same time. The feature list is genuinely enterprise: 4K VLANs, the full spanning tree family including PVST+ and RPVST+, eight link aggregation groups, 128 ACLs, and hardening features such as ARP inspection, IP source guard, DHCP snooping and DoS protection. Management costs nothing extra — use the embedded web controller, GDMS Networking in the cloud, on-premise GWN Manager, or the CLI.
Ideal for
- Comms room aggregation where 10G fibre uplinks are needed
- Offices whose desk devices are powered locally rather than over Ethernet
- Feeding PoE edge switches from a central non-PoE core
- Multi-VLAN networks separating voice, data, CCTV and guest traffic
- Schools and larger sites needing PVST+ or MSTP for loop-free redundancy
- Estates already managing Grandstream APs and phones through GDMS
Key features
- 24 Gigabit ports plus 6 x SFP+ — copper to the edge and up to 10 Gigabit fibre for uplinks or inter-rack links
- 88Gbps switching capacity — 65.472 Mpps forwarding rate with sub-4 microsecond latency
- Double the RAM and CPU of the standard series — headroom for large ACL, VLAN and multicast tables
- 4K VLANs — port-based, 802.1Q tagged and protocol-based VLAN support
- Full spanning tree family — STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST+ and RPVST+ across 16 instances
- 8 link aggregation groups — up to 8 member ports each, for redundant high-bandwidth trunks
- 128 ACLs with 1.5K ACE — Ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6 filtering
- Network hardening built in — ARP inspection, IP source guard, DHCP snooping, port security and DoS protection
- Multicast handling — IGMP snooping v2/v3 and MLD snooping v1/v2, 256 groups each
- No licence fees — embedded web controller, GDMS Networking, GWN Manager and CLI all included

Frequently asked questions
Does the GWN7803-PRO supply PoE?
No. This is the non-PoE model in the Pro range. If your access points, phones or cameras need power over Ethernet, choose the GWN7803PL Pro or GWN7803PH Pro instead, or add PoE injectors.
How is it different from the standard GWN7803?
The Pro version has twice the RAM and CPU of the standard series and six SFP+ cages rather than four SFP ports, so it handles 10 Gigabit uplinks and larger ACL, VLAN and multicast tables more comfortably.
Do the SFP+ ports need Grandstream optics?
Grandstream's own F-SM1310 and F-MM850 modules are tested against these switches and are what we would recommend. Standard-compliant third-party 10G optics generally work, but we cannot warrant them.
Is there an annual charge for the management platform?
No. The embedded controller, GDMS Networking cloud and GWN Manager are all included with the hardware — there is no subscription to renew.
Is it quiet enough for an office?
It is a 1U rack switch drawing a maximum of 21.8W, which is very low for a 24-port device. That said, we would still recommend a cabinet or comms cupboard rather than an open desk.
