Grandstream GWN7803PH Pro 24-Port PoE Network Switch with 2 SFP+

The Grandstream GWN7803PH Pro is the twenty-four-port PoE++ switch in the GWN7800 Pro range: IEEE 802.3bt at up to 60 W per port, a 400 W total budget, two 10-Gigabit SFP+ uplinks and Layer 2++ management.

The H in the part number is the whole story. Grandstream sells this switch in two power classes: the PL is 802.3at at 30 W per port with a 250 W budget, and the PH — this one — is 802.3bt at 60 W per port with 400 W. Same ports, same management, same uplinks; different power stage.

Buy the PH only if something actually needs 802.3bt. PTZ cameras, heated camera housings, Wi-Fi 7 access points and large video intercoms do. Desk phones, standard cameras and ordinary access points do not, and on a floor of those the cheaper PL will do the same job. The 400 W budget is the second reason to choose it — more headroom across twenty-four ports, whatever each one draws.

Frequently asked questions

PH or PL — which do I need?

PH if any device on the switch needs more than 30 W, or if the total draw is above 250 W. PL otherwise. The ports, management and uplinks are identical; only the power stage differs.

Can all twenty-four ports deliver 60 W?

No. 60 W is the per-port maximum; 400 W is the total. Six devices at full PoE++ would consume the whole budget. Add up the actual wattages.

What actually needs PoE++?

PTZ cameras, cameras with heaters or wipers, Wi-Fi 7 access points, some video door stations and large-screen intercoms. Phones and standard access points do not.

Will it power ordinary PoE devices?

Yes. 802.3af and 802.3at devices negotiate for what they need and take no more.

What does Layer 2++ mean here?

Advanced VLANs, advanced QoS for prioritising voice and video, and IGMP snooping so multicast does not flood the network. Routing between VLANs still belongs to a router or a Layer 3 switch.

Are SFP+ modules included?

No. Buy them in pairs — both ends of a fibre run must be the same type and speed.
