Grandstream GXP1610 1-Line SIP Phone

The Grandstream GXP1610 is the long-serving budget workhorse of the GXP range. It gives a desk two SIP accounts, two call appearances and a 2.95-inch backlit LCD, along with the thirteen dedicated function keys that make everyday operations — hold, transfer, conference, redial, mute — a single press rather than a menu dive.

It is deliberately basic, and that is the point. For a stockroom, a spare desk, a meeting room or a site office, a phone that boots reliably, provisions from a central server and needs no training is worth more than a colour screen. A 1000-entry downloadable phonebook and 200-record call history cover the practical needs, and the phone provisions in bulk over TR-069 or encrypted XML. Note that this model uses its supplied mains adapter; the GXP1610P and GXP1615 add Power over Ethernet.

Frequently asked questions

Does the GXP1610 support PoE?

Not this model. The standard GXP1610 uses its supplied mains adapter. For Power over Ethernet, choose the GXP1610P or the GXP1615.

Is it really a one-line phone?

It supports two SIP accounts and two call appearances, so a user can take a second call while the first is on hold. It is often listed as a one-line phone because it has a single physical line key area.

How many contacts can it store?

Up to 1000 entries in a downloadable XML or LDAP phonebook, plus 200 call history records.

Is the GXP1610 still worth buying?

It remains a dependable low-cost option and is still widely stocked. If you want a current-generation equivalent with GDMS provisioning and better security, the GRP2601 is the natural successor.

Can I deploy hundreds of these automatically?

Yes. TR-069 and AES-encrypted XML configuration files allow bulk provisioning, which is why the GXP1610 became a staple of hosted voice rollouts.
