The Netgear GS305 is a compact five-port Gigabit unmanaged switch — the classic fix for the spot where one network socket has to become several. Behind a desk, under the TV or next to a router, it turns a single cable into five full-speed Gigabit connections with absolutely nothing to configure.
It is the sort of box every home office and small workspace ends up needing: quiet, small and instant. If some of those devices need power over the cable too — a camera or an access point — the GS305P adds PoE, while the GS305EP adds PoE plus web management on top.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to configure anything?
No. The GS305 is unmanaged: plug it into your router or wall socket, connect your devices and it just works. Each port negotiates its own speed automatically.
Does it support PoE?
No — this model carries data only. If you want to power a camera, access point or IP phone over the network cable, choose the GS305P instead.
Will it slow my network down?
No — all five ports are Gigabit, so wired devices connect at full 10/100/1000 speed just as if they were plugged directly into the router.
Is the power supply included?
Yes. The 5V mains adapter and a quick start guide are in the box.
