Grandstream GRP2602P Carrier-Grade IP Phone

The Grandstream GRP2602P is the PoE version of the GRP2602 — the same four-account desk phone, powered over the network cable instead of from a mains adapter. On a site with PoE switches that removes one plug, one adapter and one point of failure from every desk, which is why it is the variant most installers order by default.

Four SIP accounts sit on two line keys, so one phone can cover a personal DDI, a departmental hunt group, an out-of-hours number and a second provider without extra hardware. A backlit graphical LCD, a full-duplex HD speakerphone and 5-way conferencing cover day-to-day calling, while secure boot and encrypted provisioning keep large estates manageable.

No power supply in the box is the point. If your switch does not supply PoE, either add a PoE injector or buy the plain GRP2602 with its mains adapter instead.

Frequently asked questions

Does it come with a power supply?

No — it is powered over Ethernet. That is the difference between this and the plain GRP2602. If the switch port does not supply PoE, add an injector or order the GRP2602 instead.

What class of PoE does it draw?

IEEE 802.3af Class 1, about 3.84W. Almost any PoE switch will carry a full desk of these without straining its power budget.

Can I plug a PC into the phone?

Yes. There are two 10/100 ports, so one network drop feeds the phone and the computer behind it. Note that the PC port does not pass PoE onward.

How is it different from the GRP2602G?

Port speed. The G is Gigabit with PoE; this is 10/100 with PoE. If the PC behind the phone needs a Gigabit link, choose the G — voice itself never needs more than 10/100.

Four accounts on two line keys — how does that work?

The accounts all register at once; the two keys are how you switch between and watch the active ones. In practice most people use two heavily and keep the other two for overflow numbers.

Can I provision a lot of these remotely?

Yes — GDMS and TR-069 both, with encrypted provisioning and secure boot, which is what makes the GRP range workable at estate scale.
