The Grandstream GRP2604 is the GRP2603 with a busy-lamp field bolted on. It keeps the three lines, six SIP accounts and 2.7-inch backlit display, then adds ten dedicated BLF keys down the right-hand side so a user can see who is free, who is on a call and transfer to them with one press.
That single addition changes who the phone is for. Reception desks, dispatchers, practice managers and small-team supervisors spend their day moving calls to other people, and a physical key with a lit LED is faster and less error-prone than scrolling a directory. Gigabit ports on both sides mean the desktop PC keeps full network speed, and the GRP2604P variant takes 802.3af PoE from the switch if you would rather not run a power adapter to the position.

Frequently asked questions
What do the ten BLF keys actually do?
Each key can be assigned to a colleague's extension. The LED shows whether that person is idle, ringing or on a call, and pressing the key dials or transfers to them instantly.
Is the GRP2604 different from the GRP2603 in any other way?
The core telephony is the same — three lines, six accounts, the same 2.7-inch display and Gigabit ports. The BLF keys and the slightly heavier chassis are the practical differences.
Can BLF keys be used for speed dial instead?
Yes. If you do not need presence monitoring, the keys can be programmed as speed dials to external numbers or common destinations.
Does it support PoE?
The GRP2604P variant does, drawing IEEE 802.3af Class 2 power. The standard GRP2604 uses the supplied 5VDC adapter.
Is ten keys enough for a busy reception?
For most small and medium sites, yes. If you need to monitor dozens of extensions, look at the GRP2615 or GRP2616 with the GBX20 expansion module instead.
