The Grandstream GRP2634 is the GRP2624 with far more programmable key capacity. Eight line keys and twelve SIP accounts are joined by thirty-two virtual multi-purpose keys and ten physical MPK keys, which together give a single desk enough presence monitoring to cover a whole department.
It suits the position that sits between a normal desk phone and a full switchboard: the office manager, the service coordinator, the team leader who needs to see who is available before promising a customer a call back. Dual microphones with noise shield help in open-plan rooms, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth remove the dependency on a data point, and USB headset support means the user is not tied to a corded RJ9 model.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a VPK and an MPK on this phone?
The ten MPK keys are physical buttons on the phone. The thirty-two VPK positions are software keys shown on the display, which you page through. Both can be set as BLF, speed dial or line keys.
Does noise shield help in an open-plan office?
Yes. The dual-microphone arrangement with noise shield is designed to suppress surrounding conversation and keyboard noise on speakerphone calls.
Can it run over Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet?
Yes, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 is integrated. You will still need power at the desk from the adapter if you are not using a PoE port.
Is this a good replacement for a GXP2170?
For most users, yes. You gain Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, USB headset support, noise shield and current GDMS provisioning, although the GXP2170 has more physical line keys.
How much power does it draw?
Up to 10.8W over PoE. That is well within 802.3af, but worth including in your PoE budget calculation on a fully loaded switch.
