Grandstream GWN7700MP 5-Port 2.5G Unmanaged Switch with 4 PoE and 1 SFP

The Grandstream GWN7700MP is the PoE version of the GWN7700M: five 2.5-Gigabit copper ports of which four supply power, plus a 1G/10G SFP+ fibre uplink, in an unmanaged metal box.

It is aimed squarely at the small install that has outgrown Gigabit — a couple of Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 access points, a camera or two, a desk phone — where a full managed switch would be overkill but a plain five-port switch would throttle everything and power nothing.

Do the power arithmetic before you order. The supplied adapter is rated 53.5 V at 1.22 A, so the whole switch — electronics and PoE together — has roughly 65 watts to work with. Four ports at 802.3at can each ask for 30 W. Two hungry access points will fit comfortably; four will not. Count the watts, not the ports.

Frequently asked questions

How much PoE can it actually deliver?

The supplied adapter is rated 53.5 V, 1.22 A — about 65 W for the whole unit. That is the ceiling for everything the four PoE ports draw together, so plan for two substantial devices rather than four.

Which four ports supply power?

Four of the five copper ports are PoE; the fifth and the SFP+ are data only. Keep the uplink on the non-PoE port so you do not waste a powered one.

Can I create VLANs?

No. It is unmanaged. For VLANs, port isolation and statistics on 2.5G ports with PoE, the GWN7721P is the managed equivalent.

Do I need 2.5G?

Only if something you own can use it — a modern access point or a NAS. On ordinary Gigabit devices it behaves like a Gigabit switch.

What goes in the SFP+ port?

A 1G or 10G module, matched by an identical module at the other end of the fibre. Modules are not included; buy them in pairs.

Will it power a Wi-Fi 7 access point?

An 802.3at one, yes. A PoE++ (802.3bt) access point needs more than this switch can give — use an injector for that device or a PoE++ switch.
