TP-Link Omada SG2352LP L2+ PoE Switch

The TP-Link Omada SG2352LP is a high-density access switch for sites that need lots of ports but sensible power: thirty-two Gigabit 802.3af/at PoE+ ports, sixteen non-PoE Gigabit RJ45 ports and four Gigabit SFP slots — forty-eight copper ports plus fibre uplinks in one rackmount chassis, with a 230 W PoE budget shared across the powered ports.

The LP (low power) approach suits phone- and desk-heavy deployments: dozens of IP phones and a spread of APs draw modest power each, so a 230 W budget covers a large estate without paying for wattage you will never use. Management is standard Omada: adopt into Omada SDN for cloud control via web or app, or run standalone via web, CLI, SNMP and RMON, with static routing, VLAN, ACL, QoS and IGMP Snooping throughout. Despite the density, it is fanless.

Upstream, it pairs with an Omada ER7206 router and an OC300 controller; port-side it feeds APs such as the EAP610 and every desk phone on the floor.

Why only 230 W across 32 PoE ports?

Deliberately — the LP model targets loads like IP phones and standard APs that draw a few watts each. Thirty-two such devices sit well inside 230 W, and you avoid paying for a heavy power stage you would never load. For high-draw estates, look at the SG3452P.

Do I need an Omada controller?

No — standalone management via web, CLI, SNMP or RMON works fine. A controller such as the OC300 adds cloud access and one dashboard for larger multi-device estates — where this switch usually lives.

Which ports are PoE?

Thirty-two of the forty-eight Gigabit RJ45 ports supply 802.3af/at PoE+; sixteen are data-only, ideal for desks and printers, with four SFP slots for uplinks.

Is it noisy?
