The Grandstream GWN7052 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router for small offices, home offices and remote workers: 802.11ac 2×2 MU-MIMO delivering up to 1.27 Gbps of aggregate wireless throughput to as many as 100 devices, five auto-sensing Gigabit ports, and a dual-core 880 MHz processor with 256 MB of RAM behind it.

The reason to choose it over a consumer router is what happens after the first month. Frequently asked questions

Can it replace my ISP router?

On most connections, yes — the WAN port takes the feed from an ONT or modem. Some ISPs authenticate in ways that need their own equipment in bridge mode, so check the line type before ordering a batch.

What VPN does it support?

It supports VPN for connecting remote workers and branch offices back to a corporate network. Tell us which VPN type your head office runs and we will confirm compatibility before you order.

Do I need the F version?

Only if your internet arrives on fibre that you terminate yourself — a leased line or a site-to-site link. Standard UK full-fibre broadband lands on an ONT with an Ethernet port, and the plain GWN7052 handles that.

Is Wi-Fi 5 enough?

For a home office or a small office, comfortably. Move to the Wi-Fi 6 GWN7062 for higher device density or to match an estate standard.

Can I manage a fleet of them?

Yes. GWN.Cloud and GWN Manager both handle routers alongside access points and switches, and both are free — which is what makes deploying these to home workers practical.

Why does the random default password matter?

Because a router with the same factory password as every other unit is a known attack. A unique password and certificate per device removes that whole class of problem.
