Grandstream GWN7670E Wi-Fi 7 Indoor Access Point

The Grandstream GWN7670E is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 access point for indoor deployments where client density matters more than headline tri-band figures. It combines a 2x2 2.4GHz radio with a 3x3 5GHz radio for 3.6Gbps of aggregate wireless throughput, and backs that with a 2.5GbE uplink so the wired side is not the bottleneck.

It will hold up to 512 concurrent clients and broadcast 32 SSIDs, which makes it a sensible choice for offices, classrooms, meeting spaces and hospitality floors. Management is included rather than licensed: run a small site from the built-in web interface, or adopt it into GDMS Networking or GWN Manager for multi-site control. Grandstream's Xtra Range 2.0 tuning pushes usable 5GHz coverage out to around 175 metres in open conditions, and secure boot with per-device certificates hardens the firmware against tampering.

Frequently asked questions

How does the GWN7670E differ from the GWN7670?

Both are dual-band Wi-Fi 7 indoor APs in the same family. The E variant is specified at 3.6Gbps aggregate with a 3x3 5GHz radio, a 2.5GbE uplink and support for up to 512 clients. Ask us for a side-by-side if you are choosing between them.

Do I need a 2.5GbE switch to use it?

No. The port negotiates down to 1GbE, so it will work on existing Gigabit PoE infrastructure. You will only see the full 2.5Gbps of wired headroom with a 2.5GbE PoE switch such as the GWN7700MP.

Is there a licence fee for the management platform?

No. The local web interface, GDMS Networking and GWN Manager are all included with the hardware — there is no annual controller subscription to budget for.

What PoE budget should I allow?

It is an 802.3at device drawing up to 16W, so allow around 20W per AP on the switch's PoE budget to be safe.

Can it run in a mesh without a wired uplink?

Yes. Mesh is supported on 2.4GHz, 5GHz or both, which is useful for outbuildings and awkward corners where running Cat6 is impractical. A wired uplink still gives the best performance.
