Grandstream GWN7701 8-Port Unmanaged Switch

The Grandstream GWN7701 is an 8-port Gigabit unmanaged switch — the plainest, cheapest way to turn one network socket into eight. Plug it in and it works. There is no configuration, no web interface and nothing to go wrong.

It does not supply PoE. Everything plugged into it needs its own power. If you are connecting phones, cameras or access points that expect power from the cable, take the GWN7701P or GWN7701PA instead — it is the single most common mistake with a switch this cheap.

Frequently asked questions

Does it supply PoE?

No. Anything plugged into it needs its own power supply. For phones, cameras or access points, choose the GWN7701P or GWN7701PA.

Unmanaged — what am I giving up?

VLANs, QoS and any visibility into what the switch is doing. If you need to separate voice, CCTV and guest traffic, or prioritise calls over file transfers, you need a managed switch — the GWN7801 is the equivalent with management.

Do I need to configure it?

No. There is nothing to configure and no web interface.

Is 8 ports enough?

Count everything that plugs in, including printers and cameras, then leave a couple spare. If you are at seven already, the 16-port GWN7702 is not much more — daisy-chaining small switches is how networks become hard to diagnose.

Is it silent?

Yes — fanless, so it can sit on a desk or a shelf.
